Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell
Outliers is a great book that highlights what it takes to be successful. Gladwell utilizes interesting examples regarding ice hockey players, gilded age tycoons, technology trendsetters, people of the Jewish faith, and people of Chinese descent. This book argues that success has less to do with the specific actions and innate talents of a specific individual. Gladwell says that ice hockey players and their likelihood at making it college hockey and professional teams has less to do with the player's natural talent or effort and more to do with the month they were born. He shows that players born between January and March have an increased presence amongst players in the Canadian Hockey League and the National Hockey League. It is very easy to lose a few hours of your day listening to lecture after lecture. The best feature of the mobile app is that you can download them onto your phone and listen to it without using data on your 3G or 4G network.

Business cards came onto the buisness scene when printers were invented and despite continued technological developments, they have maintained their stronghold as the standard for exchanging contact information between multiple parties. This was of course, until Bump came on the scene. Bump allows users to set profiles on their phone via their mobile app. So now, when you meet someone new, instead of handing over a paper business card - you both just take out your phone, open the app, and bump the two phones together. It is just that easy. A better yet, you can bump more than contact information. You can also bump photos and music. The administrative nightmare of inputing numerous cards after an event has ended.

If you are unwilling to abandon your business cards, CardMunch is a must have mobile app that was developed by LinkedIn. This app is a great time saver because all you need to do is take a picture of the card and it will automatically invite the person on LinkedIn to join your network. Awesome!
